About Us

Pammel Park, Madison County, Iowa

Doodles of Madison county is run by Tony and Jozie McCutchan. We live in Scenic Madison County, Iowa southwest of Des Moines. If you are familiar with the book/movie/musical “The Bridges of Madison County”, that historical bridge filled county is our home.

We have two adult children and one still in high school. Our youngest child’s love for animals and wishing to pursue veterinarian services is one of the reasons for founding Doodles of Madison County. We own four dogs, one cat and four chickens. Our house is never quiet and is filled with laughter, wagging tails and love.

Jozie has a BA in Christian education and is a RN. Jozie works for the Iowa Veterans Home and at Greater Regional Hospital in Creston, IA.

Tony has a BS in chemistry and teaches at Winterset High School. Tony is part of the district and building leadership team and is the head of the science PLC. Tony has spent several summers doing research at Iowa State University under the research experience for teacher program. Our life is about pouring into others and reaping the benefits that come from giving back.

We both love science and best practices. All of our puppy practices are based in scientific literature and studies. Raising your puppy brings us so much joy and laughter and allows us to be a little bit silly and have child-like awe in a world that has seemed to go crazy. It is our privilege to hand you a well loved and socialized puppy that will become a meaningful part of your life for years to come (please don’t forget to send us pictures!).

Our love for Doodles began with Barklee our silver Goldendoodle. His gentle loving manner won our hearts. We soon added our daughters precious Penelope, a cream colored Morkie to the mix.

When we decided to spread the doodle joy with others we researched many dog breeds and found the one that we felt offered the best in temperament and healthy longevity. That is when we brought our first Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, Emmy, into our family. Her calming spirit and gentle grace has added a warmth to our family. To complete our fur family we added Charlie. He is our friendly, fun-loving, high energy, mini merle poodle. It is their daily shenanigans that help bring the laughter and joy to our home and is the heart of The Doodles of Madison County.
